PALAMED® – Medium-viscosity Bone Cement
PALAMED® and PALAMED® G are successful, medium-viscosity bone cements that have been used for years. They are based on the same raw materials as PALACOS®, which has been documented for decades, and they also have very good mechanical properties and excellent long-term stability.
PALAMED® is a radiopaque, fast-curing bone cement which is available in various sizes of pack with or without the added active ingredient, gentamicin. The cement containing gentamicin is called PALAMED® G.
Compared to other cements PALAMED® has a short waiting phase and an optimised processing time. The cement is suitable for processing in the vacuum mixing system EASYMIX®, even without cooling.
PALAMED® has the characteristic green colour. This facilitates handling during the operation because the cement is readily visible even in the small voids of cancellous bone.
