Heraeus sponsors 2nd International Arthroplasty Symposium “The Infected Implant” in Berlin-Potsdam (November 21 – 22, 2008)

Renowned experts from research and clinical practice will meet November 21st and 22nd 2008 at the 2nd International Arthroplasty Symposium in Potsdam. A total of 28 speakers from 13 countries will discuss the topic of “The Infected Implant“ under the chairmanship of Heino Kienapfel (Germany). Speakers include Lars Frommelt (D), Enzo Meani (I), David Jahoda (CZ) and Lars Birger Engesæter (NO).
The development, microbiology, diagnostics as well as therapy of the infected implant are the focus of this year’s symposium, which will be held in English. EACCME certification for the symposium has been applied for.
The venue for the symposium is Potsdam, near Berlin, a centre for the natural sciences and research in Germany since the 19th century. Today Potsdam is home to three public universities and over 30 research institutions.
