PALACOS® - the Synonym for Proven Bone Cement.
Although the term "bone cement" should not be taken literally, it is correct nevertheless. Bone cement is a synthetic resin-based plastic which is chemically related to plexiglass. It is used for the bonding and attachment of implants to bone and for filling cavities where the aim is to absorb and transfer acting forces.
Even the first bone cement used, a material which was originally developed for dentistry, was an acrylic cement based on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
PALACOS® as well, one of the most successful PMMA-based bone cements, has performed impressively for over 40 years, with its high quality standards and excellent processing properties. The evidence can be found in clinical trials.
